Gällivare
This week I hitch-hiked with the Airplane to Gällivare. As you can see on the map it is in the very far northern areas of Sweden. I come from Stockholm but I think it is a long way to Gothenburg. This is like the same distance x3. In Gällivare I visited and lived with my dear friend Emilie which I got to know last year on a sailing trip. My mission was to make my final big project as I start the last year in a week. (Yes, school-work in the summer yes yes). It is a scientific report about a very special kind of people called “samer” in sweden and how they’re culture is affected by the urbanization. I don’t think I have learned so much in just a week. I met both people who lives there and are “samer” but also politicians. In the report I have also interviews wit “samer” who lives in the big capital Stockholm but also scientists. Mayby I will write more about this project later since it’s the only thing who goes around my head. One day in Gällivare we went up on the mountain “Dundret”. Isn’t the light, the colors and the view just magical? Looking so much forward to next year when I will hike in the mountains and see more of this (for me) unexplored part of my country.
Right now I’m packing cause on tuesday I will move back to the islands where I study. I realize I some day have to get rid of a lot of clothes…
